|
Fans of World of Warcraft, prepare for Blizzard Entertainment's next installment -- World of Warcraft: Wrath of King Lich. In this latest expansion, something is afoot in the cold, harsh northlands. The Lich King Arthas has set in motion events that could lead to the extinction of all life on Azeroth. The necromantic power of the plague and legions of undead armies threaten to sweep across the land. Only the mightiest heroes can oppose the Lich King and end his reign of terror.
The tuskarr, a walrus-like race of nomadic fisherman, inhabit the icy Borean Tundra.
Half-giant warriors, the vrykul, once inhabited the land.
You'll enjoy exploring Northrend and all its environments and dungeons.
Explore Northrend and battle the Lich King with World of Warcraft's first hero class character -- The Death Knight.
One of many new environments, Dragonblight is an arctic wasteland surrounded by dense forests.
Many strange and terrifying creatures inhabit this frozen continent. Enter the Death Knight This expansion adds a host of content to the already massive existing game world. Players will achieve soaring levels of power, explore Northrend (the vast icy continent of the Lich King), and battle high-level heroes to determine the ultimate fate of Azeroth. As you face the dangers of the frigid, harsh north, prepare to master the dark necromantic powers of the Death Night -- World of Warcraft's first Hero class. No longer servants of the Lich King, the Death Knights begin their new calling as experienced, formidable adversaries. Each is heavily armed, armored, and in possession of a deadly arsenal of forbidden magic. If you have a World of Warcraft account with a character of at least level 55, you will be able to create a new level-55 Death Knight of any race (if on a PvP realm, the Death Knight must be the same faction as your existing character). And upon entering the new world, your Death Knight will begin to quest to level 80, gaining potent new abilities and talents along the way. This expansion allows for only one Death Knight per realm, per account. New Environments in Northrend Await Journey through the remote, diverse lands of Northrend and explore Dragonblight, Grizzly Hills, Borean Tundra, and Howling Fjord. Named for bones of perished dragons and majestic shrines to the fallen creatures, Dragonblight is an arctic wasteland surrounded by dense forests. Not everything is frozen in Northrend. The lush mountains of Grizzly Hills are the ancestral home to the furbolgs, who have grown accustomed to relative peace. Although their tranquility is being challenged by trappers, goblins, and ice trolls, Grizzly Hills remains a vast and dangerous wilderness. The southwestern tip of Northrend is home to the sprawling Borean Tundra. The Horde has established a dominant presence in this icy portion of the continent and has formed a bond with the tuskarr, a walrus-like race of nomadic fisherman. Magical energy is afoot in the region, and it has caused increased tension. High above the Great Sea at the southeastern tip of Northrend lies the Howling Fjord. Ancient mythology holds that a race of half-giant warriors, the vrykul, once inhabited the land, founding a prosperous civilization. They mysteriously vanished, leaving deserted villages and abandoned temples. In present times, the Alliance and the Horde have come to Howling Fjord to confront the Lich King. Strangely, this has prompted the return of the vrykul, who are attacking the Alliance and Horde settlements. Howling Fjord presents a difficult challenge on two fronts: withstanding the vrykul's onslaught and battling the evil Lich King. A Multitude of Monsters Strange and terrifying creatures inhabit the frozen continent of Northrend, such as Nerubian Viziniers, Plague Eruptors, Shoveltusks and Flesh Giants, to name just a few. Half-spider, half-humanoid, the viziniers utilize sorcery and high intelligence to emerge as the rulers of Nerubians' underground kingdom. The Plague Eruptors are walking corpses created by the Lich King's evil experiments to spread horror and chaos across the living world. Massive curved antlers make it easy to identify the Shoveltusks. These grumpy beasts are very dangerous, territorial, and best left alone. The Flesh Giants are nothing short of nightmarish abominations. Cobbled together from the pieces of giant body parts, the Flesh Giants employ tremendous strength to carry out the Lich King's wishes. The World of Warcraft: Wrath of King Lich expansion pack allows you to engage in epic siege warfare. The pack presents the first Hero class and allows you to transform your Death Knight's look with character customization that even include hairstyles and dances. You'll enjoy exploring the Northrend and all its environments and dungeons, filled with some of the deadliest creatures -- and greatest treasures -- on all of Azeroth. What Customers Say About World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Expansion Pack:

But would take a lot long to get level 80 but if play everyday be easy. if you been play world of Warcraft this next game very hard. I can't wait for next game come out and add to this game.
Blizzard keeps finding ways to make the game more appealing to everyone and there's always something to do. The storylines are great, the game is really easy to learn, and you will get hooked. I've played WoW since a few weeks after its release, I stopped playing for a year only to get hooked back on WotLK. Whether I've got a day off with nothing to do or a few minutes before work I can always pass some time with this game.
The latest patch (3.3) adds Icecrown Citadel, in which players inch ever closer to fighting the big bad Arthas himself. I wasn't particularly impressed with the new mechanics of the class, but I have seen a marked drop in the number of requests for rolls that used to be filled by other classes, so I do know they are all out there somewhere.I find this expansion bittersweet, as Blizzard are at the end of their lore rope as set out in Warcraft III Battle Chest (That's both the original and the expansion, which people still play online. It can also sneak up on all your free time and devour it. I haven't seen any of it, and I'm still stuck up against the same brick wall in the 40-45 range. There is a TON of new content, including the new class that new players don't get to touch until they get a character to 55. If you have friends, doubly so, WoW is very much a social game, and Northrend is a lot more fun with two people. Yes, I just shamelessly plugged WC3, so what).
If you've got time and a spare $15 for the subscription, go for it. After 2 years, I journeyed back down the rabbit hole to see what's going on.A patch that came down the tubes fiddled with the leveling mechanics; it supposedly takes 1/2 the time to get from level 1 to level 60 now. I borrowed a friends account and tried it out. (Again, hearsay, stuck in my leveling efforts). In the end, it's very much like the product I put down 2 years ago, and it's great fun.
Wrath of the Lich King was a major upgrade for the WoW system and since that time, recent upgrades have made the game the best its ever been. Anyone who enjoys playing the best RPG MMO of all time will enjoy Wrath of the Lich King.and you need it for the next chapter in the WoW saga "Cataclysm".
I know WOW doesn't want to be a terribad grindfest like Aion, but that's what blizzard has turned end game raiding into. Some quest chains were required for attunements. You don't feel too good about clearing hard mode content when you STILL don't have that drop you need a couple months later even though everyone's alt picked up the item a month ago in a normal mode pug. You seriously begin to wonder why you are putting SO much work in for so little reward. If you are one of those people who wants to level alts endlessly, this game would be perfect. In BC, when high end epics were not free and easy, lvl 70 quests were worth doing for the blue upgrades. Doing the same raid 4 times a week and then doing the same heroics over and over day after day even though all of this content is boringly easy and you far outgear it = GRINDING.
There are no recipes dropping there, gold is absurdly easy to earn (and yet there is almost nothing to spend it on), and you can have your toon decked out in high level epics hours after hitting 80 with ease. You begin to dread Tuesday because it means you have to do it all over again. Finally, after all that is done, there are BETTER UPGRADES available through grinding boring dailies which you absurdly outgear so much that they haven't been fun since that first two weeks of wrath when you did them in lvl 70 epics. So.Want to buy this expac. Plus, Two: You do the content on 10 man. So.
But there's just too little point to playing Wrath. Stormpeaks and Icecrown, especially, are gorgeous and designed for flight, but they are probably the least visited zones. There is ABSOLUTELY no reason to ever go there because it's so easy to hit 80 somewhere in sholozar basin that many people never end up near these zones, except to do a few reputation quests. You do it on 25. If you enjoy leveling (as I do) and you'd be content quitting the game within a month or jsut leveling alts over and over, go for it. You really start to wonder why you put the effort in to do hard modes. In Wrath, on the other hand, gold is so easy to come by and there is no longer any point to developing professions past 400 so when you are not in a raid or dungeon there is nothing to do.
Once you hit 80, except for a few short rep chains, and a silly-fast malygos attunement, there is no reason to ever go back into a quest zone. And STILL that one piece of loot you want has mysteriously never dropped for you even though 90% of the other rogues on your server already have it. If you enjoyed the challenge of end game in vanilla wow and BC, you will be (or have been) severely disappointed. I actually completed every quest in BC on my main toon and enjoyed doing it. The new zones are amazingly gorgeous and they incorporate funny jokes and a great deal of atmosphere into the leveling process. Otherwise, save your money. This game is great till you hit 80, but you should just quit at that point.Oh and about the quest zones. It's sad that questing is useless once you hit 80. One: Any pug can still get gear either the same or damn near as good through very easy normal mode kills or badge grinding.
Blizz did such a great job in developing the questing zones in wrath that it is a shame that they took out ALL of these incentives in wrath. Sure, the zones were gorgeous and I liked the new, sleeker questlines. I give this expac one star. You could never run out of stuff to do in vanilla or BC. The new content patches and heroic modes were meant to fix the complete lack of decent end game raiding, but there are two major problems with them.
You do it on heroic 10 man. And if you don't have a raid going on, there's nothing to do. Some recipe drops only came through farming in questing zones. After doing the same content 4 times a week, you want to shoot yourself rather than ever go back in that dungeon. Wrath was great fun for the first two weeks.
You do it on heroic 25. Questing provided rep and was also a good source of income.
